What is HAGAKURE GAMES?+
HAGAKURE GAMES is a functional fitness competition held at SAGA ARENA in Saga, Japan. Athletes take on ever-changing, high-intensity workouts built from everyday movement patterns.
When and where is the Final?+
The Final is on June 5–6, 2027 at SAGA ARENA (Saga City, Saga Prefecture).
Who is organizing the event?+
HAGAKURE GAMES is organized by CrossFit HIZEN.
Is HAGAKURE GAMES open to athletes outside Japan?+
Yes — HAGAKURE GAMES is open to all nationalities. See the Eligibility section on the Overview page for details international athletes should know (visa, insurance, etc.).
CATEGORIES & ENTRY
What categories can I enter?+
Individual is ELITE-only (Male / Female). Duo is a 2-person, same-gender team format split into RX and Fitness (Male / Female). See the Categories page for full details.
Can I enter both Individual and Duo?+
Yes, you can.
Do I need to hit every performance standard listed to enter?+
No. The benchmarks shown for each Duo category are guidelines, not requirements — they help you pick the right category, but you don't need to meet every one of them to enter.
How does Duo registration work? Does my partner need an account?+
No — your partner does not need their own account. As the representative, you create one account, complete your own athlete profile, then enter your partner's details directly on the entry form.
How much does it cost to enter?+
The Individual ELITE Online Qualifier entry fee is ¥5,500. Duo entry fees will be announced closer to the January 2027 entry period.
What if a category reaches capacity?+
Once a category is full, it's automatically marked closed on the Categories page and entries are no longer accepted for it. We recommend registering early if you have a specific category in mind.
ONLINE QUALIFIER
When is the Online Qualifier?+
DUO has no online qualifier. We'll announce the official dates for the INDIVIDUAL Online Qualifier and DUO entry on our Instagram (@hagakuregames), so please follow us and keep an eye out.
How do I submit my Online Qualifier score?+
Following the published workout rules, submit a video (YouTube URL) along with a score sheet in Japanese or English.
ACCOUNT
How do I sign up?+
Click SIGN IN in the menu, then Create Account. After confirming your email, you'll fill in your athlete profile once, then submit your entry for the current season.
I already registered last season — do I need to enter my profile again?+
No. Your athlete profile is saved permanently — after logging in, you'll be taken straight to that season's entry form.
